Review of the mission ExoMars-2016

March 14, 2020 the Russian and European space agencies signed an agreement that turned a large-scale European program for the exploration of Mars in a joint project. The program is divided into two stages, the implementation of which is planned for 2016 and 2018. The approach of the first date gives reason to discuss in detail the mission “ExoMars-2016” (ExoMars 2016).

For the first phase of the mission “Eczemas” are mainly responsible of the European space Agency. Russia will provide launch vehicle “proton-M” to launch spacecraft and some scientific instrumentation. Like many automatic stations, “ExoMars-2016” will consist of two blocks, orbital and ground. From that moment until landing, it will transmit the data via TGO, and while working on the surface – through a repeater on a Martian NASA satellite. During the flight to Mars for communication with interplanetary station will meet the European space operations centre of ESA. After landing, data from the EDM to accept a deep space communications network NASA.

In September 2015 “for technical reasons” the start was postponed to 14 March 2016. This will likely lead to a further slight correction of the schedule of the mission.
